Scams plus my latest products

I am sure many of you have come across scam emails. You get an email that you

Have won some money? How did they get your name to win that money? Or you get an email from your Bank, saying they need some information from you! Your bank would not do that on line. Another Scam. Another email says I am from the Ivory Coast and want to be friends with you and then you get their sad story and they need money! Uh uh don’t send any. A friend of yours is in England and needs money to get home: all the while he is next door. Grin. Now one that has recently surfaced happened to someone close to me. They had advertised something on the Kijji classified site. The cost was 200 dollars, the reply said they wanted to buy it, could they ship out the product and they would be sending a money order soon.

Well the money order arrived but instead of 200 dollars it was for 1500 dollars with instructions to deposit the money order into the bank take out the 200 dollars and ship the rest to a shipping company who would pick up the parcel. So when the person got to the bank they discovered it was a scam, there was no return address on the envelope either. It is a good thing the bank did not cash it and a good thing the product wasn’t shipped. So a bit of advice be careful everywhere. I advertise on Kijiji all the time and I also bought things there without any problems but scam artists are everywhere they even go to your door trying to give you a deal so they say. Seniors are vulnerable but so is everyone else. Never ever ever give out your passwords, bank account information, or personal information on line or anywhere else. Something else that is going on , online is some scammers are stealing emails and posing as us and sending out messages to our friends, some contain spam and some contain viruses. It is such a shame that these things are happening all around us. Is it not? Ok now it is time for me to let you know I have been creating more products and I am sharing my lastest with you, you can find all these products in my Christmas Folder, Genealogy folder and look through my other folders for more at

Babies,Christmas,This & That

Hello everyone, well the sun is hiding it is overcast but so far no snow.It will be here soon enough. I love to see all the beautiful winter scenery but it is the cold that I don't like. And I love to see the snow on Christmas Eve. Coming down in big snowflakes then if the snow wants to go away I will let it go. grin. I know many of you readers never get snow but you have seen many photos or television shows with snow. Speaking of snow and of Christmas I am sort of proud of this Christmas Card I created yesterday. I created a lot of Christmas Cards at my store at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*  but some of them I like better than others although your taste may be different. Just to let you know that I too am ordering from my store, yesterday I made an order for someone who wanted an order and I had it shipped to their place. I have ordered tee shirts, greeting cards and two gifts for someone special and some business cards. Am waiting for the business cards so that I can advertise off line. And I am satisfied with all of the stuff I have ordered and received.  Now I mentioned babies in my headline. Why? Well a baby is a miracle, a baby is special, a baby bonds parents together. A baby is someone to love and that will love you back. I would not trade one moment from watching my son grow, his first words, first steps, first haircut  and the same for my grandchildren, watching them grow up, these are all memories I will cherish forever. Now with babies comes gifts, gift for a baby shower or gift for a christening or gift for baby's first Christmas. So I created new products yesterday a baby shower invitation , and a baby mug and even a baby USA postage stamp. Am including the image of the mug .You can find this mug in my mug and stein folder, the invitation in my geeting card invitation at
http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*   . You change the name Thibodeau to the one of your choice. Remember I have the names on both sides of the mug. I think it would make a lovely gift for any baby.  I do hope you have enjoyed todays blog and will stop by another day, I never ever know what I am blogging about  each day, tomorrow or the next day my blog could be something totally different. Thanks for the visit

Who is Sketchart?

Today I am going to blog differently, I would like to talk about another zazzler who is a friend of mine. We met through Zazzle and she is across the world from me  and I am hoping this blog will bring sales her way and also my way. grin. I shall add a couple of my products after I blog about Sketchart who's name is Rose. I also want to say, she has faithfully added my sales on her blog to which I am so very grateful. Here she is:

Who am I? and what am I all about?

Hi my real name is Rose. The name Sketchart26 I come up with as my first ever ID in an art forum. Since then I've become quite well known by the name in many different art associations. I was born in 1971, married young had two wonderful children and later divorced. These days I remain single and devote my time to looking after my children, animals and paintings. I live in Australia and operate out of Melbourne, Victoria.

Where it all began

I first become interested in the world of art, when my cousin asked me to enter a competition with her through, The Art Training Institute located at 134

136 Highfield Road Camberwell, Australia back in 1985. It was at this time in my life, I discovered that my artistic ability showed great potential for Commercial Illustrating, after being awarded with an Entrance Certificate and guarantee for passing the entrance examination with honors. Although I did not go on to study at The Art Training Institute, as unfortunately could not afford it, I continued to draw my little sketches at home.

It was not until recently that I began to take my art seriously when I joined an art forum called Simply Painting in March 2007. Where I painted alongside Frank Clarke a well known artist from Dublin with his free painting Lessons. As I painted I began to see the same potential I had back in 1985. When I posted my first painting in the forum I received many wonderful comments both positive and negative in regards to my work from artist all around the world. They were all so encouraging and surprised that I had, had no formal training in art. As a result I began to wonder what my work would be like if I had the opportunity to be trained. I began to search for a place to learn to paint. It was at this time that I meet Jan Van Fucht my Teacher. Jans work has been displayed in many galleries and has had many one man exhibitions in Australia. He has become my inspiration as he continues to teach me his techniques in oil painting. Since meeting Jan and being influenced by Jan it has become my heart

s desire to paint. I studied under Jan for six month at which time I had to leave due to other commitments.

Since this time I have continued to paint and sketch every day teaching myself through videos, books and online tutorials. After some time I even started my own Art Forum called Woody Art and Things.

Now Days

Now days I run two shops on Zazzle. Sketchart26 Fine Arts & Photos and Sketchart26 Designs. During my time at Zazzle I have had the greatest pleasure of getting to know many other Zazzle Store owners and they are truly wonderful people. I admire each and every one of them and enjoy sharing ideas and helping one another out. But with everything I do in life I believe we should always give back so I started a Zazzle Blog for both my own designs as well as everyone else

s from Zazzle. This really took off and I found myself really busy so decided to start whats now known as Sketchart26 online motto zazzle blogger where people from Zazzle that are happy to blog each others work can add their designs there and I set it all up in HTML and email to everyone on the list and all they have to do is add it to their blogs, which in turn helps each of us get much greater recognition for our designs. All are welcome to join.

Camping Trips

Today I am going to blog about something funny ,well funny in a way about a camping trip we were on.
This was long ago, and we were three couples who decided to go to this camp which was very isolated and the only way into the camp was on a trolley on a train track.

And the men knew a retired trackmaster who owned the camp and he knew all the train schedules so we had to time our crossing in between the trains. I remember we had to cross this big Threstle, when you looked down the trees were like those little trees you buy at the craft shop. One of our friends made us laugh because on the way in across that threstle, he had a few drinks and  I can still remember he wore shorts and one of those hats that the people in the alps wear and he was saying "when you're hot, you're hot, while crossing over but on the way back he was sober and he was holding on for dear life when he looked down.

Getting back to my story, we arrived at the camp, and settled in, the men wanted to go fishing the next day. It was the first time I had gone to such a place and at night time it was pitch black, all I could think of was bears ,coyotes, wolves. So us ladies went to the outhouse outback with a flashlight and each other.
Now the next day the men went out fishing and us three ladies stayed behind, and we were chatting to pass the time. And we started talking about "What if! What if some men came around? What would we do? Where would we go? And we were really getting into this. All of a sudden one of the ladies looked out the window towards the railroad tracks. Oh No! she said, I see someone on the tracks out there. They are coming this way. What are we gonna do? So we were really scared, no men to protect us. One of the ladies grabbed a poker, and we decided to run and hide in the woods, another lady went to get her nerve pills and I put out the lights and into the woods we fled. Now one of the ladies wore a pair of bright yellow pants, and I mean bright and here we were the three of us hiding among some large ferns and the lady in Yellow stands up behing a small tree and we said get down, she said I want to see where they are going!
Well the men just walked on by, and we said we are not going to tell our men about this are we? No way!
As soon as we saw our husbands we ran to them and blurted out the whole story, Did the men every laugh and come to find out the men we saw had a camp further up the track.
I hope you liked today's blog and I added three images of some of my products , you can find these in my animal folder and humor folder at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*   Also I would like to add that until October 31 my business cards which can be found in my greeting card folder are 50%off, the Code for them at the checkout to get the discount is CRDS4SELLERS

Why am I talking about Horses?

Hello  nice to see you are reading my blogs, well today we are talking horses.
Horses according to Wikipedia is a hooved mammal. The horse has evolved over the past 45-55 million years from a small multi-toed creature to the large single toed animal of today.
Note the image url I am posting takes  you to my gallery at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*
Although most horses today are tamed there are still some wild horses out there.
There are many variations of horses to name a few there is the Albanian,Appoloosa,Arabian,Belgian,Canadian,Clydesdale, Egyptian or Baladi, Mustang, Mongolian, Palomino ,Paint and Percheron.

http://www.zazzle.com/two_horses_t_shirt-235369319855280579?gl=allicor&group=mens&lifestyle=classic&rf=238218562078565840

The url above takes you to my tee shirt with two horses on the front. You can find more tee shirts in my tee shirt folder at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*

Now here is a little story about a horse who stood its ground taken from a book I have on Newfoundland: Picture the following image of a horse which is a mug as that horse

http://www.zazzle.com/watching_the_sunrise_mug-168163110694637202?gl=allicor&rf=238218562078565840

There are strange tales told in the Newfoundland history. But none  so incredible as the grave misforture that befell Tom Conner in 1804.

Tom was on route to a village nearby when all of a sudden his path was blocked by this black horse. Tom quickly swung his musket to his shoulder and fired at the horse. He fired again at a range impossible to miss. Yet the Black Horse stood impassively in his tracks. Tom very frightened made a fast detour. He told his incredible story to the villagers but was laughed at because he was afraid. Yet no

one laughed the next morning when Tom was found dead, without any marks on him at exactly the same spot he had seen the Black Horse. Strange? Yet stranger still is this- some months later Tom's young wife, young son and older brother were all found dead as well with not one mark on them, in the exact spot Tom had died. To this day this mystery cannot be explained.

Hope you liked the story here  are a couple more of my horse products

A Christmas Story

Let me tell you a little story, I read in a Newfoundland Book. You all know the true meaning of Christmas am I correct? About the birth of baby Jesus in a manger?

This is a Christmas greeting card I made at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*

Any here is the story:It is the stroke of midnight in a quite little village half hidden by a blanket of white snow,a strange and unusual occurence is taking place. The barnyard animals are on their knees.Their heads are bowed in prayer. Of all the quaint and colorful customs associated with Christmas in the Newfoundland of yesteryear, the belief that animals would kneel in prayer to honor baby Jesus was probably the most unusual.

This magnet can be found in my religion folder at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*

Not too long ago, the full 12 days of Christmas were celebrated with joy and reverence. The most treasured gifts were those created by hand; wooden toys or rag dolls. It was on January 6,Old Christmas Day,that the animals were said to pray. On the stroke of midnight, the sheep, cows and horses all knelt to honor the child who was born in a similar abode more than 2000 years ago. No one has ever claimed to have seen this strange phenomenon ,yet it was a belief held by one and all at Christmas time of long ago.

You can find this Lord's prayer poster and the other version in my religion folder at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*

Now this is a very interesting story and I hope you will also agree.

Thinking of getting a new puppy?

Pets are a big part of many families. Some families prefer dogs. Dogs comes in all shapes and sizes from a Chihuahua

<div style="text-align:center;line-height:150%">Chihuahua keychain keychain<br />Chihuahua keychain by allicor<br /> Learn how to sell art online at zazzle.com.</div>

to a Saint Bernard. Can you imagine a Saint Bernard in your kitchen? Grin.

But they are a beautiful dog.

<div style="text-align:center;line-height:150%">Animal Hoodies shirt<br />Animal Hoodies by allicor<br />See other Dogs T-Shirts </div>
Now a few things to remember if you are planning on getting a puppy or an older dog. You have to be prepared to take care of the dog, it is not a part time job and that puppy will be your responsibility. He or she will give you unconditional love and you have to care for your puppy, make sure he stays healthy, you have to teach him just like a baby, he or she has to learn to obey you . If he or she gets sick you need to go to the vet , sometimes a dog can cost a lot of money for health reasons, so you must be prepared for this. I have seen occasions where people get a puppy and after a while when that puppy grows into an adult , the owner gets rid of him. This must be quite a shock on that dog who had been with this family most of his or her life. Now if all this has not

Discouraged you from getting a new puppy, well then it means you intend on loving it and caring for it. Now a new thing going is making a Puppy Shower. Invite your friends over, they can buy things for the new puppy, like brushes, toys, treats, bones,a new bed, and more.

<div style="text-align:center;line-height:150%">Puppy Shower Invitation invitation<br />Puppy Shower Invitation by allicor<br /> design an invitation online using zazzle</div>

And pamper your new dog, buy him or her some cute doggie clothes for when you go out walking. Don’t forget your pooper scooper when you are out walking , no one wants to walk in it. So be respectful of others. And make sure your dog is ok with children. I remember before my son had his first daughter , they had a Labrador retriever and when the new baby came along, we were all afraid of what she would do, but lo and behold, that dog would lay near the playpen and watch the baby and she never ever hurt the baby. So make sure the dog and children get along.

Now I am going to add a few photos of dogs that are in my store at

http://www.zazzle.com/allicor

Relaxation and Genealogy

Well today is Saturday, all day yesterday I thought it was Friday. That’s what happens when a person has a lot on his or her mind. It is nice sometimes to take a day off and go relax, with a good book or go get frustrated with a game of Bingo. Grin. Even reading a book is a good way to relax. I have an entire bookcase full of books. But my books are all Acadian related, stories about places some of my ancestors lived, some little stories about some of them and I also have books on Cajuns . If you are into genealogy or family trees and you have Acadian lines in your family tree, well I would highly recommend the two volumes of books by Stephen White called DGFA . He has all the first Acadian ancestors in his books.Along with some descendants, if you connect to where he stopped you got it made. At the moment these books can be viewed or ordered through inter library loans. Mister White is in the process of publishing more of these books and he is also working on the sequel to these books. In other words the continuation of them. I am anxious to purchase those. Now I also have English blood running through my veins. My paternal side came from England, both my grandfather and grandmother had English blood and they married into the Acadian bloodlines. When I was tracing my grandmother’s surname Chase I looked for information on the first guy who came to New Brunswick, all I could learn for a while was that he was a stranger in the village and he married a Girouard girl. Well that wasn’t enough for me so I kept digging. One day I was in the land grants looking for information for someone else and lo and behold I found an article on a group of men who applied for land in Chocpish near Ste Anne and didn’t I find Abraham?

Yes it was my Abraham but his last name was spelled CHATE. Wow! Now was that a typo? A misspelling?

And on his marriage it stated he was the son of another Abraham and Nanette Rose. Keep digging Aline.

I checked the latter day saints site for an Abraham Chase son of Abraham , none to be found next I tried Abraham Chate and yes up came Abraham Chate son of Abraham Chate and Ann. Now Nanette is a nickname for Annette or Ann. The dates all fit and I had some help from someone from the same line who was in Australia and also someone from England and I have the Chate line traced back to the late 1500s.

I also found the marriage of Abraham and Ann, and it turns out she was a Bennett. They married in London England and settled in Deptford Kent England and had three children besides Abraham. The search goes on. Now that I blogged this article I feel very relaxed. Grin. Now changing the subject a little , are you wondering what to get for your family and friends for Christmas? Well first of all why don’t you make them a family tree book? I have some nice binders in my store that would make a nice cover. Get some loose leafs and some page protectors and make the book add some photos . I also have lots of genealogy products hats that you can add their first or last names on, I have mugs, t-shirts, posters ,lots of Acadian and Cajun products. I have Scottish Tartan products with different surnames. I am going to post a few urls and you can click on them or just go to my main gallery and check out my genealogy folder, hat folders, Acadian/cajun folder and clans , if you don’t see anything there , check all my cards and other folders.

Who are Acadians and Cajuns?

Well I have been trying to think of something to blog that would be interesting for many of you readers. So today I would like to talk about Acadians and Cajuns.
Acadians were folks who came and settled in a place called Acadie. Which today is Nova Scotia. These people came mostly from France . They were peaceful folks trying to better themselves by beginning anew in a land they had never seen. Can you imagine leaving your home, with you personal belongings for a unknown place far away?

These people had surnames like Arsenault,Boudreau,Cormier,Doucet,Girouard,Hebert and so on.
Note  as you can see by the url above the mug I postced can be customized to your own surnames.
You can find this mug and others at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor* in the Acadian/Cajun folder.
The Acadians settled in and around Port Royal at first, then some moved on to Louisbourg, Grand Pre, Beaubassin, Amherst areas and eventually to New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
Note: In the url above you will see an image on the shirt of Poutine Rappees, they are a delicacy to most all Acadians. Any Acadians who moved elsewhere and come to the Maritimes will head for a place where they can buy these poutines. Poutines are made with grated potatoes, pork, cooked potatoes and rolled in a snowball sort of and pork is inserted in the middle and this ball is boiled. (They may not look appetizing to someone who has never eaten any but they sure are delicious. Same as for rappure or shiard ,I am posting the image next. This mixture is based on the same idea as poutines but instead of boiling it is baked in the oven and  forms a delicious crust on top.

Doesn't that look delicious?  You can find this postcard in my acadian/cajun folder http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*

Now back to the Acadians, in 1755  a vast majority of Acadians were loaded on overcrowded vessels and deported from Grand Pre Nova Scotia to various parts of the world. Some went to France,England,Haiti ,and many parts of the USA. Some Acadians avoided deportation by hiding in the woods or fleeing to Quebec. Some Acadians who were deported to France and some from Haiti made their way to Louisiana. And they were known as Cajuns . These Acadians who became known as Cajuns must have worked very hard in their new homeland. They had to deal with many unknown types of animals such as alligators. They were not given the best of lands so they had to improve their lands. And can you imagine being apart from your love ones and friends ? Because the deportation separated families and friends alike.

a cajun ladies shirt I believe you can order this in mens and children also. Again in my acadian'cajun folder at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*
The cajuns surnames  were changed a bit  for example Boudreau  became Boudreaux, Robichaud became Robicheaux, Thibodeau became Thibodeaux. And you must have heard a lot of Boudreaux and Thibodeaux jokes, so here ia a mug that I really love you can find it the same place as all the urls I posted here in my zazzle.com/allicor store.

Acadians and Cajuns need shoes so I have those also

For Acadians   and now for Cajuns what about these?

So in case some of you readers do have some Acadian Blood in you, or are Acadian or Cajuns at heart there are so many interesting stories out there, you can check out my Acadian website at http://www.acadian-roots.com   and read about sinking of two vessels carrying Acadians and much more.
I hope you enjoyed my blog and be sure to check out my products, I have many products not only on Acadian and Cajuns ,I have Scottish Tartan products, Christmas products and cards, other shoes ,hats, and many greeting cards, postcards, business cards, postage stamps, so please do stop by for a visit?

Last hanging in New Brunswick

Last Hanging

Let me tell you a true story that happened in 1936. My Mom remembers this tragedy of so well. I will read from a bookby Dan Soucoup called Looking Back. If you ever go to the library see if they have it.

“This happened in a place called Pacific Junction in Westmorland County New Brunswick Canada. It is a true story. In 1936 there were about 12 families living around there and before winter’s end this little backwood community would be the scene of one of New Brunswick worst murders a brutal and senseless affair.

On a late Monday morning in early January a Mister Blakeney stopped chopping wood to go have dinner at

The home of Philip Lake who lived nearby. But when he got to the Lake yard all he could see was ashes and the remains of a fire that happened the night before. The burned body of Lake was found near the doorsill and as Mister Blakeney hurried down the snow beaten trail to the railway office, the frozen body of Philip Lake’s wife Bertha and her 20 month old daughter Jackie lay in the cold snow. The station master, the RCMP and the CNR police were all certain of one fact that murder and probably arson were commited.

The tracks in the snow went different ways but at least one set of footprints led to the Bannister home in Berry Mills where the previous day one of the Bannister Boys was seen walking along the railroad track

Going towards Pacific Junction. A mitten was found along the snow trail and when confronted at his home

Daniel Bannister age 20 claimed the lost mitten..After, his younger brother Arthur admitted to have been

On a drinking party at the Lakes on the fateful night. Both Bannister boys were arrested for murder after police were convinced that not two but three sets of footprints led from Pacific Junction to the Bannister house.,a sister Frances Bannister was also arrested and held as a material witness.

During the questioning the Bannisters offered the story of accidental fight and fire. Yet the investigating

Officers didn’t buy their stories. Even the newspapers saw the crime as cut and dried.

However , a small detail seemed out of place which let to another full blown investigation. There were only

3 bodies accounted for whereas the Lakes had two children. The youngest Lake child was still missing.

What rocked the RCMP and the entire city of Moncton was news from a Bannister neighbour was that a baby was inside the Bannister household and had been there since the day after the murders.

At first Mae Bannister the mother \said it was her baby until Mister Blakeney identified a birthmark in the

Baby’s hair as that of the missing baby of the Lakes. Mae admitted that her daughter Frances had brought the baby home from the burning Lake’s home. Despite Mae’s lies and stories a clear case of kidnapping became evident and the motive was soon established as investigators revealed that Mae was in the process

Of blackmailing a number of men claiming that the child had been fathered by them and they had to pay support. The packed courtroom was stunned when the charges were read to Mae Bannister.

“By procuring between Jan 4 and Jan 8 1936, without lawful authority seize an infant child, known as Betty Lake within Canada. Mae Bannister was sent to Dorchester to stand tried beginning Feb 25 on kidnapping and abduction.

Meanwhile xrays on Philip Lake showed he had been shot before his house was burned. And a broken 22 rifle had been found in the snow at Pacific Junction. A murder confession was take from Daniel Bannister and his sister Frances admitted she had been standing outside the Lake house on the evening of Jan.2 and was handed a baby by her brother after shots had been fired in the house. With these shocking details now

Public one of New Brunswicks most sensational murder cases began to take place in lake February of 1936 in Dorchester. Lawyer for the defense was a savvy operator and tried everyway he could to get his clients off. Since this was the first Dorchester murder trial since that of the Sullivan murders back in 1896, Dorchester was flocked my many spectators and in the courthouse it was standing room only.

Both Bannister Boys were tried separately as was the mother Mae,and while the defense lawyer argued that

The crown council had failed to prove evidence existed that pointed to an actual individual murder, the crown simply pointed out that the existence of the Lake baby provided the motive for the entire criminal case. “ In that baby was the motive for the entire affair. The motive was to kidnap the Lake baby”.At Arthur Bannister ‘s trial the judge told the jury “there is nothing in the case to warrant a reduction of charge to manslaughter it is either murder or nothing:. Three hours later the jury came back with a guilty of murder charge. Next Mae Bannister was found guilty of harbouring an infant and Daniel was later found guilty of

Murder but the jury recommended in his case that mercy be applied to his sentence.Arthur’s sentence was appealed and and second trial was held but the dramatic evidence of mother and infant’s cruel murder amid the frozen snow was too much for the jury. Arthur was again found guilty of first degree murder. Both Bannister Boys were sentenced to hang for their crimes and on Sept 22 1936 the hangman arrived in Dorchester and organized the carpenters to build a gallow. As dusk fell on Sept 23, crowds filled the outside courtyard while 14 official tense witnesses watched inside the gates as the hanging hour of 1 AM approached. At 1 AM sharp, the bodies of Arthur and Daniel dropped from the gallows to be placed in coffins after hanging for a full 21 minutes. That was the last time the dreaded black flag hung at Dorchester ‘s Court House. May Bannister the mastermind escaped death and was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. She was out earlier on good behavior and never showed remorse for her actions.

What a very sad story for the Lake family and the baby Betty.

Legends are they true?

Today I would like to share a story with you from the book Acadian Legends, Folktales and Songs by Georges Arsenault. This book is very interesting to read. This part is very suitable seeing Halloween is not far away. Mister Arsenault acquired these stories by talking to the local people. Here is Nellie Nuttrell’s story. You’ve probably heard about Pierre Poirier’s house ?.

Pierre was married to a girl called Marie Bernard. I think they had 5 children. Well Pierre’s wife died when the children were little. He couldn’t live alone. So after a few months he found himself another woman.

She was a Doucette, her name was Emilie. She was an old maid who never had anything to do with children. She didn’t know what it was to love a child, she hadn’t had children. After she was married she had her first child. Well she liked that child but she didn’t like Pierre’s children. She was pretty nasty to one of his girls. One day she pushed her down the stairs and broke her arm.” If you tell your father I will spank you ,she said”. You’re not going to say a word about it. The little girl was only 7 or 8 years old. She was so scared she would not have told her father for anything in the world. Her arm never set and the infection got in it and she died. The stepmother wasn’t any kinder to the poor girl even when she was sick.Anyway she died. After she was dead they would hear someone walking upstairs, then they’d hear someone coming down the steps. They would always leave the house because the woman was scared when she heard the noise. One night when they were in bed, Pierre told her she was just imagining things. She said to him

“No, you heard it yourself, you know!”.Anyway not long after they were in bed, they heard the noise out in the hall, their bedroom door was closed. They heard something walking in the hall, coming towards their bedroom. Then it knocked on the door. Pierre jumped out of the bed and opened the door. There was nobody there. The next day a man named Arsene came to the house. He was a travelling salesman, as Pierre had a store. He got there at suppertime. Pierre said to him “ You might as well have a cup of tea with us”

Arsene had heard about the trouble they had but didn’t dare ask if it was true. They were in the middle of supper when all of a sudden they heard noise upstairs like a pile of glass falling. Oh! There was a big crash. It made the plates on the table rattle. It was awful. That’s when she said “Ah, that’s the noise we hear all the time. Well said Arsene Is that true? Yes she replied. I can’t stay here at all. As soon as I am alone it torments me. It comes down the stairs and goes back up again. The priest had said to them. Maybe if you have the house blessed…….So they had their house blessed. After that there were sound of chains rattling under the house. They heard chains ,big chains that made a racket and shook everything. They said “ We don’t know what to do with this house ,we can’t stay here any longer. Suddenly the house caught fire

And burned. Then they built a new house and never heard the noise again. The house was built on the same location as the old house and they never heard a thing. Everyone said it was because the woman had been so mean or nasty to the little girl and it was the little girl haunting her.

Note: This story is not exactly word for word from the book if you are interested the story in the book is titled “ The Haunted House (La maison Hantee). I would recommend this book. Speaking of Halloween, check out my Halloween products, I have cards, mugs, stickers, invitations , at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*  And here is a funny tee shirt for any electricians. This and other tee shirts also I have a scary folder there.

Diabetes has no boundaries

http://www.zazzle.com/walking_for_a_cause_tshirt-235970513742562761?gl=allicor&group=mens&lifestyle=classic&rf=238218562078565840

So what is Diabetes?  Diabetes is a chemical disorder of the body primary involving an
inability to utilize sugar and other chemical components properly. It is characterized by
an elevation in the concentration of sugar in the blood and also by th appearance of sugar
in the urine. The pancrease cannot  enough insulin. Diabetes occurs quite often in families who have it, in other words it can be heriditary or in obese people. It is estimated that 1.5 to 2 percent of the entire population has diabetes and these numbers could even be higher. And diabetes can occur in people of any age even little children. Sometimes a person doesnt know he or she has the disease and  it is detected by routine check ups in the blood and urine. Other signs of Diabetes can be being very thirsty, going to the bathroom more often, weight loss, and no energy. Not all people with diabtetes need to take Insulin some can be controlled with a proper diet and pills. Insulin is given by a needle and usually the patients are taught how to give it to themselves or caregivers too. Even Children can be trained to give the needles to themselves. Prolonged diabetes can lead to eye problems, kidneys, heart and nerve problems. Many diabetics live a long life because they have to go to the doctor more often and thus if a problem arises the doctor can catch it it time. If you feel you may have diabetes don't wait, see your doctor. Remember if you are always thirsty  and go the bathroom a lot, check it out with the doctor he will take some test and let you know.
Well this is on diabetes for today, you can find so much information on diabetes online, take the time to read all about it.  I have created a tee shirt for anyone who walks to support diabetes or any cause  , this tee shirt can be customized to change Diabetes to the reason you are walking, now Christmas is coming and a nice gift you could give would be a donation to the Diabetes center near you or organization. I have created a donation note card , you can view the shirt above by clicking on the url and visit my site for the donation card and a hat  , the donation card is among my invitations in my greeting card folder. I think the tee shirt would be great to wear on your walks for charities. Visit my site at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*

Alex Haley of Roots

Alex Haley is the author of Roots. Did you know he sailed into Dalhousie New Brunswick? In the book It happened in New Brunswick by David Goss. I shall share some of what he wrote.

In August of 1988 Wharfinger Beezie Sullivan went to call on the captain of the Husky Vessel. Her job was to see that they treated the government property properly when they tied up at the wharf.. She remembered clearly the day that Alex Haley showed up on a ship that was loading paper for overseas markets from the huge town mill. It was customary she said to visit the captain on the ship to see if there was anything he needed while in port. On this occasion came a knock on the door and in walks in Alex Haley. “ I wonder if I can get a typewriter fixed while we’re docked “ he said to the captain. “ I know you” she said to Mister Haley and introduced herself. She told Mister Haley she could help him and went to see the typewriter. It was an old -fashioned one but she knew a man who could probably fix it. He came over and fixed the typewriter and never charged Alex Haley. Mister Haley liked the community so much that the following year he returned for a second helping of the hospitality of the villagers.Apparently Beezie said, Alex Haley served in the navy in WW11 maybe as a cook. After he became famous with his Roots book and TV show, he couldn’t get away from the news reporters ,or people who wanted him to be a speaker . He couldn’t even walk down the street without being recognized. So he would get on an ocean going vessel with his secretary Mister Simms so he could have solitude and write. While in Dalhousie he was taken on a tour of the village and tasted Salmon and Lobster. One of the residents gave him a whole salmon to put in the freezer on the ship. He autographed many books for the villagers. Once back on the ship he wrote to Sandy who had toured the village with him and to a Doreen: “ Dear Sandy and Doreen,Sandy will recall that visiting the airport, I used the chance to telephone my wife what a marvellous and unexpected pleasure I’d experienced in a town of which I never heard of called “ Dalhousie”. When I play it back in my mind my secretary Mister Simms and I were really given the red carpet treatment, eventually between yourself and Beezie. I want now to express to you directly that this past two days will stick with me and much more than some passing memory. You are, all whom I have met such unusual and warmly hospitable and generous people. Right now I am looking at my two jars of preserves! I truly look forward to returning next year on the Maria Gorthon and I will think of your family ( including two stray dogs and killer cat)many times before then.

Alex (Find the good and Praise it).

I would recommend this book by David Goss, there are lots of interesting stories in it.

My Appology Re Trying to find the right gift

I just had to send this out to all of you, I am sorry you received the same blog twice, not sure what happened . Sorry about that.

Trying to find the right gift

Mug URL

At some time or another have you ever tried to think of a gift to buy for someone and cannot come up with any ideas? This has happened to me many times. An elderly person has collected things all their lives, they have everything or most of them do.What can we give them? What about a new friend either online or that we met somewhere? What can we give them? We don't know what they like, or what they dislike. It is sometimes a very hard decision for us. I know for someone living where it is cold, hats and mittens or gloves are good gifts, but if there is no cold, then no need for mittens. As for clothes what are the styles they like? Well a funny tee shirt would solve many problems, especially for someone who loves humor.
For seniors or someone in the hospital, I think mugs and steins would be great gifts. And also great to give for Christmas or Birthdays.Since I have been creating in my store, I have come up with great ideas for gifts.
A photo of our family on mugs, on T-shirts too, and we must not forget nice greeting cards to go with the gift. Oh I know there are cards in the stores at a very cheap price but wouldn't you like to send that special person a card that is different?  Shopping online is easy, you can pay by credit card or paypal and you don't have to leave your home, the parcel comes right to your door. I have ordered some of my tee shirts, and some postcards and mugs which are beautiful. Yesterday I ordered some of my greeting cards to show my friends and family. If you would like to see my  products you can go to my website and click on each folder, be aware that there are more folders inside of the main folders in some. For example my greeting card folder has invitations, postcards, birthdays etc. Soon I am hoping to start sharing other store owner products in these blogs. In the meantime check out my gallery http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*
Remember now it is not to early to start your shopping.

True Meaning of Christmas

Well today I just want to stress how important it is to know that Christmas is not only for the material things, such as Christmas tree, presents, gatherings. It is also a time to remember why Christmas is celebrated for many people around the world. Christmas Day was set aside to remember and celebrate the birth of Jesus. Don't get me wrong I love Christmas it is my most favorite holiday and I enjoy buying presents for my family. It makes me feel good, to see them open their gifts from me on Christmas morning. But it is also a good time to go to church. I used to love going to the midnight mass, but they changed that and many go to an earlier mass but nevertheless a visit to church on Christmas Eve is a very nice thing to  do. I also put up a manger every Christmas, it has its own corner in my room ,I feel that it is a very nice gesture on my part.  And today I created the greeting card above and a beautiful verse inside for anyone who wants to send it to friends and family. The image has baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph and angels on it. I am proud of this product. Click on the url it will take you to the card and if you want to see more of my Christmas Cards go to my Christmas folder at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*
Until next time

Getting ideas

For everyone who is creating. Are you having a hard time coming up with ideas of what to add on your products? Well my ideas comes on the spurt of the moment many times. I am at the bingo a slogan comes to mind so I make a note of it. I am out driving , I see a pet  ,hmm this gives me an idea on something else. I keep trying to come up with something that is different. We don't want to create an identical store.  Everyone who shops or many who shop want's something that is not worn by everyone else. Take pictures of various things. One day I saw this duck family and  I snapped two or three photos and on one of the photos one of the ducks was spreading his wings and lifting his leg. That was a good shot so he or she is on one of my products.
Now my late husband had Alzheimers so I created a few things for Alzheimer patients which I personally think it is a great product for someone with the disease. I want to create more .
So if you hit a block and cannot think of anything, go for a walk, look around your house, take a drive ,and be sure to have your camera ready at all times.
We are now seven following me, and many some are coming in to read and leave. I would really like to start featuring other stores along with mine here. My friend Rose (Sketchart 26) has a blog going that I intend on joining, as soon as this blog gets busier. She has a great idea  that helps promote our sites.  I will share all of this with you soon and I am sure you will all want to follow me by joining her blog.
Until next time, please spread the word about this blog to your friends so we can get this blog going in full force.
Have a great day

Alzheimers Disease

What is Alzheimers? Who can get Alzheimers? Is it catching?  Well in my medical book here is what it says; Alzeimers's disease is a progressive disorder of the brain causing loss of memory or serious mental deterioration. Back then the medical book said little is known about the cause of the disorder but research shows that nerve endings in the cortex of the brain degenerate and disrupt the passage of electrochemical signals between the cells.Under the microscope  this area can be seen and they are called "plaques". Plus the nerve cells themselves develop abnormal fibers called "neurofibrillary tangles. The more placques and tangles the greater the disturbance in interlectual function and memory loss.  This disease isn't contagious but there are some cases that they follow in the family. For example I believe my husband grandmother had it ,she died in an asylum and we were told she was insane, and my late husband had Alzheimers and now his sister has it. They estimated that 2 to 3 percent of the population over 60 years of age will get it. Usually they detect Alzheimers by eliminating other illnesses have been ruled out such as brain tumors, strokes, infections, and alchoholism. What are the symptoms?  Well in my late husband's case, he was an electrician and a good one and usually in about 15 minutes he had a lamp repaired or a plug installed. I noticed it was taking him longer to do these things. And then his driving I noticed he was making mistakes instead of being on the right side of the road he would cross on the left side.
Here are some of the signs that could be Alzheimers if your love ones has some of these see your family doctor . If the person had a good memory and now cannot remember appointment dates, forgets something he just heard, and if he or she repeats the same thing over and over. (this could be a sign).
Trouble concentrating, or trouble following a plan or recipe. (can be another sign).
Trouble trying to drive to a familiar location, or having a hard time doing a budget that he or she used to do with no problems. Not remembering the date or what day it is. (could be a sign) having a hard time to follow a conversation  or joining in and if they do they repeat over and over.Losing things or misplacing them and cannot find them. The moods of a person with Alzheimers can change they get depressed, scared,, suspicious, If you have some of these signs it doesn't necessary mean you have Alzheimers, because as we age we do have memory losses. I remember once my computer was right near my kitchen stove and I had put eggs on to boil and was concentrating so hard on my genealogy that Poof the water ran dry in my pot with my eggs. What a mess!. My husband had Alzheimers his progressed fast. This disease is so very hard on the caregivers as the disease progresses, so to all you caregivers out there I can say this " I have been there, I know what you are going through" Take time out for yourselves you need it, go for a coffee break or to see a neighbor or take in a movie. There is help out there ask for it. I took care of my husband at home, I have no regrets and  I would do it all over again if I had to.
Now I created a few things that I thought just might be helpful for an Alzheimers Patient. They wander off, they get lost, and they can be out of the house before you know it. I created a couple of tee shirts, hat , and buttons or badges which would be ideal. When you purchase them, change the phone number to the number where you or someone can be reached. If someone spots your love one they can contact the right persons. You can find these in my tee shirts, buttons, and hat folders, and also I created a nice donation card if you are just a reader and want to donate to Alzheimers Societies in your neighborhood, you can find this in my greeting card folder look in invitations  all at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*
Thanks for reading this , I have been wanting to blog about Alzheimers for a very long time.
