Been Featured on Squidoo

Hello everyone, well today I have been busy doing genealogy first of all, I have helped someone find another part of his family tree. This makes me feel very good. It took me a while to find the information but I don't usually give up very easily.
I am also working on my own tree , I have much more research to do. I am now still into my English line, I am enjoying finding information and a bit of history about the places in England where some of my ancestors lived. I had never ever heard of a place called Henfield but lo and behold I have ancestors from there and I checked some images and I found it very intriguing. On another note, I am always busy creating more things, today I did a poster, a mug, and a postage stamp. And while checking my email ,I received one saying my store has been featured on their site so here is the url please read what is said. http://www.squidoo.com/zazzlerbonanza. This site will feature some more of my products as I create them for a short while. I feel very honored .
Have a great day

Good Deeds and Rewards

Well I haven't blogged in a while, so here I am. I have been going back and forth to hospitals to visit sick patients, one of them being my Mom . Mom is in rehab and doing quite well . I am very pleased with that. She had taken a stroke ,she is 92 and has more determination than lots of younger persons on her floor. She improved from a feeding tube to eating, from not walking to walking with a walker, from not talking to talking and her hand is slowly improving. Never say or even think you cannot do something, never ever give. Mom told me the other day, that when she was very young her teacher told her ,there is no such word as "can't". Anyway getting to the reason for the title of this blog. Every Monday and Saturdays, the rehab floor at the hospital has a mini bingo game. And you should see the patient's eyes sparkle when they win something. So I went to the store and bought some stuffed toys, bears, cows, kittens, pigs, rabbits and so on and brought them in as prizes. Those prizes went by so fast and I saw these beautiful smiles on these ladies faces. It made me feel good, it made me feel as if I had contributed something for these patients. My Mom plays ,she wins the plushed toys and gives them to her great grandchildren as so other ladies. Now they are having so much fun that they are thinking of making a mini Bingo on Wednesdays too.
That is not all! There is this little four year old boy who was in a housefire and is in the burn unit and he now walks everywhere and he saw the bingo game and asked if he could play. We told him he could come play on Saturday and he went and told him mommy he is gonna play bingo just like her on Saturday. We asked him what he wanted to win, he said a firetruck. So we are going to buy him one, have a bingo game let everyone know we are going to let him win, and he will get his firetruck. Today on my way home from the hospital I stopped at the store and picked up twenty dollars worth of prizes, the ladies are going to be so pleased at the next bingo.
Now on another note, I would like to mention, on an earlier post I had blogged a tee shirt for the Japan Earthquake Relief Center, well since them I have removed it from my products because the folks who had said they would donate ten dollars for each shirt informed me that they were unable to do it in my case and others like me, so I removed the shirt as I thought it was the best thing to do. So instead of buying a shirt or mug , a donation to Red Cross or the Charity of your choice is another good idea. And soon Easter will be here, I have created some greeting cards, postcards, mugs . You can find them in my store at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor* click on greeting cards and my mugs are either there or in my mug folder. I have added a few samples. Until next time

Japan Earthquake & Tsunami

Japan Relief Shirt shirt
Japan Relief Shirt by allicor
Browse Japan T-Shirts

As most of you know ,there was a huge earthquake in Japan plus the tsunami which devasted so many villages. I am certain that many of you would like to do something to help but don't know what to do. Well Zazzle had agreed to donate ten dollars off of every shirt that is sold from the designs we have donated. I have donated the above shirt to help the Earthquake Relief, This shirt can be ordered for men, women and even children. If you would rather see the shirt in my store go to my new product folder at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor* Together we can make a difference, and every ten dollars adds up. I will not make any money on this design. I was listening to a lady who is in Japan and she was pleading for food and gas and warm blankets. I am sure ten dollars will be a great help and you will have the shirt to wear to show your support. I don't want to blog about my store or anything else at the moment I just want you to concentrate on helping in this terrible and sad tragedy

Children

I don’t believe I have ever blogged about the children. So today I would like to do so. A child is born to a couple or to a single parent. That child is in need of love and needs to be taught many things . To walk, to talk, to go to the bathroom, and most of all to learn right from wrong. The children learn a lot from the parent or parents, so it is really up to the parent to teach them right, to help them reach their goal in life ,to encourage them to do so.

I have always loved children . I was lucky enough to have one . I treasure all the little things he did while growing up. In my heart I believe we taught him right from wrong and that we did the right thing.

Little things stand out in my memory. I remember one time, we had an old station wagon, and headed out west on a trip to nowhere, my son was around 3/12 or 4 and we decided to go visit relatives out of the blue.

My son wa a little talker and on our way our station wagon broke down on the highway, we had to have it towed to a garage or service station (the universal joint fell off I believe). Anyway we had it fixed and we said we won’t tell our relatives because they will laugh at us because our car was an old car. Arriving at our destination, the first thing that came out of our son’s mouth was “Dada’s car broke down and we had to go to a garage to get it fixed”. So much for keeping secrets. Grin.

Another time he was around ten years old and he was into Karate and one day after training he came home and he was hurrying up the stairs, I noticed he had his hat pulled down over his eyes. I said” Why is your hat pulled down”” He removed the hat and he had this biggest black eye I had ever seen.

Because of some of our children, some of us are lucky enough to have grandchildren. Now that is totally different than our own children. Why? Well while our children our growing up, we are busy with taking care of them, and showing them the right way. Our grandchildren now, we don’t have them with us every moment of the day so when we do have or see them, we have lots and lots of time to be with them and to enjoy their cute little gestures and sayings. We can spoil them and send them home to their parents.

Ah yes, I love my grandchildren just as much as I love their parents. Becoming a grandparent to me was a dream come true. First came a grandaughter and she brought us so much joy and laughter and I love her so much and next came our grandson and he is loved so very much , he will be the one to carry our surname down the family tree if he finds a nice girl to marry when he gets older.

I remember when the grandchildren used to come visit my late husband and I. My husband was a smoker and we had this round wicker foot stool and he had burned a hole in the top of it. My grandaughter walked up to the foot stool stuck her finger in the hole and said “ Papa did that” My grandson followed my grandaughter stuck his finger in the hole and said “Papa did that”. They were 4 and 2 years.

If I would have had a choice, I would have had plenty of children but it was not meant to be, so I cherish the thought of being lucky enough to have one child. There are so many couples out there wanting children and unable to . I believe to these couples there is something missing but again, there are so so many children out there needing homes, wanting love. I know of some folks who have adopted children and lo and behold after the adopted they had some of their own. It doesn’t always happen but it has.

Had I known I would not have any more children I think I would have adopted another child . There is a saying and I honestly believe it. Children Make A Home.

On another note I would just like to add, I have created some children tee shirts, baby rompers, posters, baby shower invitations, birthday cards and more. If you have time ,I do hope you will take your favorite drink along and look through my many products at
