Children
I don’t believe I have ever blogged about the children. So today I would like to do so. A child is born to a couple or to a single parent. That child is in need of love and needs to be taught many things . To walk, to talk, to go to the bathroom, and most of all to learn right from wrong. The children learn a lot from the parent or parents, so it is really up to the parent to teach them right, to help them reach their goal in life ,to encourage them to do so.
I have always loved children . I was lucky enough to have one . I treasure all the little things he did while growing up. In my heart I believe we taught him right from wrong and that we did the right thing.
Little things stand out in my memory. I remember one time, we had an old station wagon, and headed out west on a trip to nowhere, my son was around 3/12 or 4 and we decided to go visit relatives out of the blue.
My son wa a little talker and on our way our station wagon broke down on the highway, we had to have it towed to a garage or service station (the universal joint fell off I believe). Anyway we had it fixed and we said we won’t tell our relatives because they will laugh at us because our car was an old car. Arriving at our destination, the first thing that came out of our son’s mouth was “Dada’s car broke down and we had to go to a garage to get it fixed”. So much for keeping secrets. Grin.
Another time he was around ten years old and he was into Karate and one day after training he came home and he was hurrying up the stairs, I noticed he had his hat pulled down over his eyes. I said” Why is your hat pulled down”” He removed the hat and he had this biggest black eye I had ever seen.
Because of some of our children, some of us are lucky enough to have grandchildren. Now that is totally different than our own children. Why? Well while our children our growing up, we are busy with taking care of them, and showing them the right way. Our grandchildren now, we don’t have them with us every moment of the day so when we do have or see them, we have lots and lots of time to be with them and to enjoy their cute little gestures and sayings. We can spoil them and send them home to their parents.
Ah yes, I love my grandchildren just as much as I love their parents. Becoming a grandparent to me was a dream come true. First came a grandaughter and she brought us so much joy and laughter and I love her so much and next came our grandson and he is loved so very much , he will be the one to carry our surname down the family tree if he finds a nice girl to marry when he gets older.
I remember when the grandchildren used to come visit my late husband and I. My husband was a smoker and we had this round wicker foot stool and he had burned a hole in the top of it. My grandaughter walked up to the foot stool stuck her finger in the hole and said “ Papa did that” My grandson followed my grandaughter stuck his finger in the hole and said “Papa did that”. They were 4 and 2 years.
If I would have had a choice, I would have had plenty of children but it was not meant to be, so I cherish the thought of being lucky enough to have one child. There are so many couples out there wanting children and unable to . I believe to these couples there is something missing but again, there are so so many children out there needing homes, wanting love. I know of some folks who have adopted children and lo and behold after the adopted they had some of their own. It doesn’t always happen but it has.
Had I known I would not have any more children I think I would have adopted another child . There is a saying and I honestly believe it. Children Make A Home.
Thanks for the visit
